In order to continue reinforcing your new positive belief system, you may need to use education to go beyond the excuse.


Use Education to Go Beyond the excuse:


The best way to go beyond apologize, is to become a student of building a better business by educating yourself and understanding everything you can about how to be effective at each of the following facets of your business: Time Management, Prospecting, Selling, Relationship Building, marketing, Client Servicing, Product Market Knowledge and Portfolio Management... Education is only half of the equation to build confidence. The other half is to get experience by taking action!


Take Action to Eliminate the excuse:


Remember, the secret to taking action is to do it immediately! Once you are armed with new knowledge about how to be effective with any facet of your business, go out and take action. The time for thinking about taking action is done! Your new action will create new reference points. If you are not getting the results you want, simply refine the process until it works better and soon you will eliminate doubt in your own abilities.

In the mid-1990, I had the privilege to train for New Zealand side by side with Steve Gurney, who finally has to win the side 9 times.


At the time Steve had already reached the point where it has nearly won each unique multi-sport racing entered. Therefore everyone has to ask this as its miracle was... what was the secret to him apart from all other athletes?


After all Steve doesn't have any natural attributes that make a very gifted athlete, he even described himself once in an article in magazine as a "... short nightmare, bow-legged bio mechanics"! (his own words!). Yet it was expected to win each race where he was to transform!


As I spent whole days of training with Steve on the mountains, lakes and rivers, roads I discovered little by little magic secrets. I'll tell you in a minute, but first I have to tell you a few things that were highly distinctive in its attitude.


Steve was obsessive about extent and timing of each of its training efforts and saved their meticulously. Even when we had a puncture on the bike, the repair was a race against the clock. It was also incredibly pedantic details than other mundane, boring, or so fundamental athletes as they had low packaged... so they thought! We have spent endless hours repeat the drill to improve our bike, running and canoeing and transitions between 3 disciplines.


His dedication to training was considered by most as its main advantage, but other athletes were also dedicated but does not quite reach the same result. He also sought constantly feed-back about how he was doing things


Its main secret was: Steve unmarked as athlete only Multi-Sports had a coach and mentor, yes 2 different people!


So why would it be a coach when he was so good? Why Tiger Woods could use a coach when it is clearly person in the world who can show a shot better?... Simply because it cannot see swing!


MultiSport is chosen discipline cured for many individuals "do yourself", including the very talented athletes who would never consider obtaining a coach "tell them" what to do Of course the same athletes kept wondering how Steve makes such a difference!


So what is has to do with the company? HMM I wonder! I will help you judge for yourself. But until I go, I want to emphasize that, when I'm working with business owners, I do thrive coaching. The results are what I am focusing on, simply because most business owners don't want a coach but they want results.
